Earlier reports suggested that GT5 might not be getting weather effects, but now french website Gameblog.fr have confirmed weather effects are in the game.

During there exclusive interview with Kazunori Yamauchi mentioned that there will be weather effects plus these other features:

  • European Release Date: March 2010 near / announcement imminent
  • Race day and night
  • Back to racing in the rain
  • Tire wear: refining loss of adhesion
  • A garage of 950 vehicles
  • 20 locations around the world
  • 70 variations of circuits
  • New vehicle physics
  • Damage by deformation of each parts of the car depending on the speed and direction of impact
  • Upload replay’s to YouTube
  • GT + Exports Enhanced TV videos from the PS3 to the PSP
  • From the day of launch: the possibility to upload hundreds of vehicles obtained in the GT on PSP to Gran Turismo 5
