15 hours of Mafia II, how much cut scenes take up the gameplay I don’t know but the script is packed with 600 pages,160,000 words and 300 speaking characters

2K senior producer Denby Grace also stated “It’s one disc.” for you Xbox360 gamers.

“The experience is fifteen hours, so it’s not too bad. But the scope is pretty huge, the script’s like 600 pages; 160,000 words; 300 speaking characters. It’s huge, but it fits on a disc.”

Was the script the reason for all the delays, if it was let’s hope it was worth it.

Good and Bad news came out today regarding the new F1 game, good news is there is some news about the latest incarnation. The bad we will have to wait till September to get our hands on it.

I’m going to have a bit of rant about the release date issued, I was probably being naive, but I was hoping for the game to be released at the start of the season or in the middle at least.

Anyway back to the excitement of F1 2010 game its set to be the best yet, which isn’t a hard task although Sony did a great job in 2006.

Codemasters today announced that F1 2010 will be released this September for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC Games For Windows.

As the official game of the 2010 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, F1 2010 will include all of the official teams, drivers and circuits from the coming season.

F1 2010 will feature the return of seven times FORMULA 1 Drivers’ World Champion Michael Schumacher, the introduction of several new teams, and the brand new Korean International Circuit that will host the 2010 FORMULA 1 KOREAN GRAND PRIX.

The September launch will see F1 2010 become the first official FORMULA ONE game to appear for Xbox 360 and marks the return of FORMULA ONE to PC after an eight year absence.

In F1 2010 gamers will take on the full, expanded grid in a variety of game modes including GRAND PRIX, Championship, Time Trial and an extensive, innovative Career mode. F1 2010 will also feature a highly advanced damage model, fully dynamic weather system and extensive competitive multiplayer options.

9 new screenshots.

EA also released info on Tom Paxton your playable character in the game.

Tom Paxton is a top-drawer agent for the Company with an impeccable resume. His extraordinary physical strength and agility as well as his talent for disappearing seamlessly into any environment make him the ideal candidate for the job.

Paxton is tall (6’1”), well-built, with sinewy athletic body.
Very little is known about his childhood. His father was a initially a Secret Service agent, but later became an agent for The Company. His mother died at his tender age.

The tragic death of his mother in a bank robbery, and growing up with an assertive father without siblings, gave him a very specific view of the world and leaving him to fend for himself at a young age.

As soon as he could, he joined the US military. Stationed in Burma for three years, Paxton had a short-lived relationship with a local woman. As the relationship became too close for comfort, he severed it abruptly.

However, the woman gave birth to his daughter, and Paxton still sends money every month to the mother and the child, exposing traces of compassion – a rarely seen trait of his personality.

His ambition drove him to continue his Military career at West Point Academy, leaving his previous life behind. He graduated with honors and joined the Secret Service. Shortly afterwards, he was recruited by the Company.

Paxton was attracted by the Company’s goal-oriented approach, efficiency, no pencil-pushing all-action assignments, and unscrupulous Machiavellianism of the leaders.

Paxton was on the fast track in the Company, getting more and more responsibilities and climbing up the hierarchy. He fully believed that what he’s doing was for the good of the country, and the higher cause he was a part of.

This belief, fueled by strong patriotic moral fiber and combined with his extreme efficiency and effectiveness, makes him the perfect agent for the company. Two years ago his father was killed in the line of duty, working on an undercover assignment for The Company.

Paxton’s Personality and Character Traits

Paxton’s characteristics are dominated by his devotion to his job, being a company agent. This is reflected in his personality and how he lives his life.

The Company is his family. He respects the Company’s resoluteness and omnipresent power. Although being a man of action, he believes people must be forced into prosperity, as the masses are too lethargic to get there themselves.

The “Swarm Map Pack” will include two new multiplayer maps, Docks and Machine, which Sega describes thusly:

* Docks: The caustic alkali waters of BG-386 put an end to Weyland-Yutani’s planned shipping activities. But this dockyard soon became an historic battleground.
* Machine: As well as processing exotic ores, the BG-386 Refinery provided electrical power to the colonists at Freya’s Prospect. The lights may still be on, but nobody’s home. Yet.

Also included in the pack will be two new Survivor maps for you horde fans:

* Outpost: The site of the original Weyland-Yutani colony on BG-386 was abandoned, and soon reclaimed by the planet’s voracious jungle plant life. It is now the perfect hunting ground for all manner of wildlife.
* Hive: Deep in the heart of the Freya’s Prospect Refinery lays the Xenomorph Hive. Beware all who enter here.

Alien, Predator or human, you’ll be able to pick up the map pack on March 18 for £6.99 or 560 Microsoft Points.

The unofficial successor to the fantastic PS2 shooter Black, Codemasters have announced a new shooter set to redefine shooters.

Set to rip apart the First Person Shooter and deliver genre-defining gun play that comes alive in an orgy of bullets and destruction, Codemasters today confirmed that Bodycount is the new IP in production at Codemasters Studios Guildford.

Designed by Creative Director Stuart Black (co-creator and designer of Black, 2006), Bodycount is being created by development team using the EGO Game Technology Platform, an evolution of Codemasters’ award-winning engine, for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and is scheduled for release in Q1 of 2011.

strong>“Our core focus for Bodycount is to deliver best-in-class gun play that places the gamer at the heart of the experience,” said Executive Producer Tom Gillo.

“From the jaw-dropping devastation caused by firing into enemies or shredding the world around you in a hail of bullets, Bodycount will crystallise that moment of pulling the trigger into an exhilarating sensory overload of action.”

In Bodycount players become ensnared in a clandestine global power struggle as a powerful combat asset with a green-light to eliminate enemies known only as ‘Targets’ on behalf of the ‘Network’.

Equipped with a selection of contemporary weapons, players and opponents tear through destructible cover to execute explosive kills in a shreddable world where operatives are encouraged to leave no witnesses.

Complimented by online multiplayer and co-operative game modes, Bodycount will blast outrageous action and spectacular fire-fights from both barrels.

“We’re all massive FPS fans,” said Stuart Black, Creative Director on Bodycount “and believe that there’s room for a refresh of the shooter experience.

If Race Driver: GRID was all about the purity of racing, then everything in Bodycount is absolutely centred on the bullet and its impact on the world.

Our shredding tech enables us to create a different kind of gameplay, where players and AI can’t hide behind indestructible cover and rely on whack-a-mole mechanics.

Here the environment is constantly changing as the game world is shot to hell; it’s going to be a huge amount of fun.”

An update to Battlefield Bad Company 2 on PlayStation 3 is currently with Sony America and will, hopefully go live later today after we get Sony approval.

When this happens PlayStation 3 owners will get access to the BFBC2 in game store and have access to their VIP content. Sony Europe will follow shortly after and will, all being well with Sony, allow European players to access the store and their VIP content early this week.

The access to the in game store will start things off by giving VIP members access to the Rush map, Nelson Bay and the Conquest map, Laguna Alta.

While the Xbox 360 and PC aren’t getting a client update today we will of course be watching them at DICE and EA, making sure the servers keep running and let you game as much Battlefield time as possible.
