Valve has detailed this week’s Left 4 Dead 2 Mutations for both PC and Xbox 360, giving you the opportunity to blast zombies with bullets or tear them apart, depending on what way you swing.
If you own a PC and aren’t really a fan of getting up close and personal with the brain-eaters, then this week’s Mutation, GibFest, will please you; it adds a M60 and unlimited ammo for you and your three friends.
Console owners needn’t feel left out. Instead of a M60 they’ll be getting up close and personal with Chainsaw Massacre.
Blood. Or bullets. Or blood.
Valve’s posted up some stats on the choice of this week’s Mutations, showing voting on both platforms.
PC owners gave GibFest 25 percent of the vote, followed by 20 percent for Versus Survival.
Chainsaw Massacre only managed to get 16 percent of the vote on PC.
The 360 crowd want blood, as seen by 26 percent of the vote going in Chainsaw Massacre’s direction compared to Gibfest’s 21 percent.

You may only be able to play as a human in Dragon Age 2, but BioWare boss Ray Muzyka is convinced the RPG won’t leave you gasping for choice.
“I think we certainly make up for the fact there’s a little more contraint with the character choice with a lot of other choices,” said the exec, speaking to VG247 at gamescom earlier this month.
“And really, the focus allows a lot of the polish in there too.”
Dragon Age: Origins allowed the player to choice from three races at the start of the plot; humans, elves, dwarves were all available for play.
There’s been something of a kick-back against the “Mass Effect” style of Dragon Age 2’s construction, but Muzyka told us it was necessary to constrain the player in this way because of the game’s basic nature.
“It’s sort of the way the story’s told,” he said. “It’s a personal narrative. It’s a first-person narrative from the perspective of Hawke.”
He added: “As you see in the demo, there are moments when you’re taken out of that first-person narrative a little bit, and you see other characters commenting on what you’ve done and what you hope to do as a character. There’s a major impact as a the Dragon Age universe unfolds.
“But, given that he is a human in this universe, that’s just the way this particular chapter in the Dragon Age universe is built. It’s built around him being a human, and hence your choices are a little more constrained at the beginning, but on the other hand that enables us to do a lot more other cool things as well, in terms of the way the narrative flows, and the other party members that join with you are really cool and interesting and diverse.”

Looks like Denmark will be missing out on the release of EA’s MMA due to the game featuring marketing for energy drinks.
Apparently, Scandinavian law prohibits the marketing of energy drinks, therefore, EA has decided that instead of changing the fighter shorts and environments in the game depicting the offending material – it just won’t release the game over there.
“We are adhering to laws in Denmark that restrict the use of energy drink product placement in-game,” reads a statement from EA, “and therefore are not shipping EA Sports MMA in that region.
“Our game authentically recreates the sport of MMA in every facet, including energy drink in-game sponsorships on fighter shorts, gear, and in fight venues.”
Hooray for authenticity then, we reckon.
MMA is slated for release in October on PS3 and Xbox 360.
